To benefit
Arcata House Partnership and The Breast and GYN Health Project
Paintings, pottery and photographs by local artists and others will be up for Silent Art Auction in benefit of Arcata House Partnership and The Breast and GYN Health Project on Friday, October 11, during Arts! Arcata. Ceramics, jewelry, and vintage and antique collectibles will also be offered, with prices from $1.00.
Donations are currently being accepted through October 9th at Arcata House Partnership Admin Office, 1005 11th Street, Arcata , 822-4528.
This one-night-only event at the Feuerwerker Building, 854 Ninth St., between H and I Streets in Arcata, presents a unique opportunity to start or add to an art collection for home or office while benefiting programs to aid our community. Arcata House Partnership, a local non-profit organization, offers food and shelter and provides services to assure a successful transition for persons moving off the streets into permanent housing. The Breast and GYN Health Project (formerly Humboldt Community Breast Health Project) is a community resource of support and education for those facing a breast or gynecologic cancer concern. Their services include a patient navigation program, support groups information specialists, warmline volunteers, an extensive resource library, and more.
All artwork has been generously donated from local art collections. Written bidding begins at 6 p.m. Bids will be accepted until 8:45 p.m., when winners should arrive to check their bids and take home their selections. Payment is by cash, credit card or personal check.
The sale is made possible through the combined business, design and community skills of Julie Fulkerson and Alex Stillman and generous donations from local artists and art collectors. Additional support is provided by the Stebbins Family.
Doors open for viewing and bidding at 6 p.m. There is no entrance fee. Live music will be provided by Oryan Peterson-Jones performing as Die Geister Beschworen. Food, wine, cider and non-alcoholic beverages will be available.
