Working with Arcata House Partnership, the Yurok Tribe Secures $2.2M in Project Homekey Funding to Help House Homeless
On October 16th, Governor Newsom’s office announced the release of the Homekey funding:
The Yurok Tribe has been awarded $2.2 million to acquire 18 units to provide permanent supportive housing with priority given to Native Americans in Humboldt County, where Native Americans represent the second-highest racial group of unsheltered persons and also face increased risks of COVID-19 complications.
As reported in the Humboldt Times Standard: “The Yurok Tribe worked with the Arcata House Partnership to secure the funding from the fifth round of awards from the $30.7 million available through the state’s Project Homekey, which is intended to get homeless Californians permanently off the streets.”
